August 17-19. Twelfth Annual Session of the Summer School for Holocaust Teaching organized jointly by the Russian Holocaust Center and Yad Vashem was held in Moscow in the Museum of Jewish Heritage and Holocaust. The Session was attended by 42 teachers representing Russia’s 24 regions. A quarter of the participants held doctoral degrees. The presentations were delivered by the Center’s well-qualified specialists as well as other lecturers.
August 12. Heads of the Russian Holocaust Center took part in a memorial ceremony dedicated to the memory of leaders of the Jewish Antifascist Committee. They were executed in 1952 by Soviet authorities.
August 10. Federal Assessment Service in the Russian Ministry of Education informed the Russian Holocaust Center that questions related to the Holocaust are included to the country’s Unified State Exam on history for senior schoolchildren, starting from this year.
