"The Holocaust" Bulletin of the Russian research and educational Holocaust Center and fund Holocaust No. 59 year 2013 JANUARY Editor's note

This year we are celebrating the twentieth anniversary of its founding. We are proud to be the first organization in the former Soviet Union, which sought not only to commemorate the victims, but also to connect the Holocaust theme with modern life.
Today the Center has regional offices in 25 cities across Russia, and thousands of scientists and teachers in the country, to cooperate with it. The Center said the "Jubilee", presenting his work at the UN headquarters in New York at the invitation of the UNITED NATIONS information programme, as well as at the regular meeting of the UN Commission, dedicated to the study and teaching of the Holocaust in Russia
November 8, 2012, on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the session concerning the information of the UN Program was held at the New York headquarters and under the theme "from oblivion to Memory: a Holocaust Story Emerging and education in Russia Today", in which the Russian scientists and educators presented the results of work.
Vitaly Churkin, Permanent Representative of the annual Conference at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. We conducted a high profile International Conference in Rostov-on-Don, held memorial activities in Rostov and Stavropol Krai, and inaugurated the alley of the righteous, the first of its kind in Russia. Five new books published in the series "Russian Holocaust Library".
In this issue we present the various aspects of teaching and learning about the Holocaust in Russia. The Centre organized and conducted more than 15 seminars with the support of the grants of the President of the Russian Federation and the Claims Conference. This was done all over Russia from Siberia (Novokuznetsk and Kemerovo) to the sea of Azov (Taganrog). With the support of the local authorities in many cities held events devoted to 70-th years of the Holocaust in Central Russia and the Northern Caucasus. IHRA is supported, the Centre has published the proceedings of the International Conference on perpetuation the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, held in St. Petersburg in November 2011.
Representatives of different professions and ethnic communities have actively participated in the International Holocaust remembrance day. This is the first time the event was held with the support of the Council of Europe.
Centre of international relations have also grown significantly. In addition to our traditional contacts in Israel, the United States, France and Germany, we have established new contacts and partnerships with the University of Toronto (Canada), the Institute of contemporary history (Munich, Germany), the Holocaust, the State Commission (New Jersey, United States) and Rutgers University (United States).
