The participants agreed upon the importance of teaching not only on the basis of books and different conventional methdological approaches but to include the reports of surviving eyewitnesses and of persons who were directly involved in these tragic events. In Taganrog the audience got the opportunity to listen to the experineces of Taicha Oterstein, the leader of the Taganrog branch of the Holocaust Center, who survived the Shoah and to report of a Righteous among the Nations, Igor PolugorodnikThe leader of the cultural program of the Tchekhov Library, Oksana Serbina, informed about new books on the subject of the Holocaust and lectured about the role of public libraries in motivating the young generation to turn their attention to the history of the Holocaust.
